CENTAC (Centralised Admission Committee) is an admission committee established by the Government of Puducherry for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered by the colleges of Puducherry. Every year, CENTAC conducts an entrance exam for admission to the lateral entry program of various undergraduate courses.

CENTAC Lateral Entry is conducted for admission to UG Lateral Entry Engineering courses (B.Tech. Lateral Entry) in Puducherry region Government colleges and Government Quota seats in Self-financing colleges for the Academic year.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for CENTAC lateral entry are as follows:
- The candidate should have a diploma in the relevant branch of engineering/technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or any other recognized board.
- The candidate should have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) in the final year of diploma examination.
- The candidate should have completed the diploma program in a government recognized institution located in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for CENTAC lateral entry is as follows:
- The exam will be conducted in offline mode.
- The duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
- The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions.
- The total number of questions will be 100.
- Each correct answer will be awarded one mark.
- There will be no negative marking.

CENTAC Selection Procedure
The selection of the candidate shall only be based on the marks obtained in the 2nd and 3rd-year examination (4 semesters) in the Diploma course.
- The aggregate in the percentage of the subjects of qualifying examinations (4 semesters) of Diploma shall be the basis for merit.
- In the event of this also being the same, the total percentage of marks obtained in S.S.L.C. /H.Sc. or equivalent examination shall be the basis for ascertaining the merit.
- Date of birth of higher age.
