ATMA Counselling: Dates, Registration, Fees, Procedure

The counseling process for the AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is administered by the individual participating institutes that accept ATMA scores. Unlike some other entrance exams, there is no centralized counseling procedure for ATMA. Following the announcement of the ATMA results, which were disclosed on July 28, 2023, candidates who meet the specified cut-off marks will be invited to participate in the final selection rounds.

ATMA Counselling

The ATMA results for the 2023 February session were declared on March 3, 2023, and for the May session on June 2. The counseling rounds for the ATMA exam in 2023 will take place at various centers. Upon the announcement of results and cut-off marks, candidates can indicate their preferred counseling centers while completing the registration form for the respective participating institutes.

This decentralized counseling approach allows each institute to conduct its counseling sessions, taking into account the specific admission criteria and processes unique to their institution.

ATMA Counselling Process

The ATMA counseling process consists of three rounds, which are elaborated on below:

  1. Group Discussion (GD): Candidates meeting the cutoff criteria will be invited for a Group Discussion round by various institutes. They will be organized into small groups and assigned specific topics for discussion. Evaluation will cover various aspects such as negotiation skills, managerial skills, communication skills, leadership, and personality traits.
  2. Written Ability Test (WAT): Candidates will need to participate in a Written Ability Test (WAT) where they are required to write a short essay on a general topic assigned by the panel of judges. Additionally, there may be subjective-type questions and answers round related to the given topic/s. Evaluation will focus on language ability, vocabulary, grammatical skills, and expression.
  3. Personal Interview (PI): Candidates will proceed to a Personal Interview with an expert panel comprising professionals from industries or academia. The PI round will assess:
    • General Awareness
    • Extracurricular activities
    • Academic performance and candidate-specific fields of interest
    • Communication skills
    • Overall personality
    • Confidence

The three rounds together aim to comprehensively evaluate candidates on various aspects, ensuring a holistic assessment of their abilities and suitability for admission to management programs.
