Eligibility Criteria
For B. Tech
– Candidate should have passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of Aligarh Muslim University or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or should have a Diploma in Engineering of AMU with at least 50% marks in aggregate
- Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of this University or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Diploma in Engineering of this University with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
For B.Arch.
– Candidates should have passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of Aligarh Muslim University or any equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate for English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or should hold a Diploma in Engineering of AMU with at least 50% marks in aggregate marks
Diploma in Engg. in the relevant branch (see below) of study or an examination recognised by the University as its equivalent with 50% marks.
Application Process
- The Prescribed Application Forms and the Guide to Admissions containing details of courses are available on the official website www.amucontrollerexams.com
- The application Form is to be filled Online, i.e. the candidates have to fill the Application Form directly on the website.
- Before filling up the Application Form, candidates are required to read instructions carefully given in every step as available in the online portal.
- Candidates have to fill the Application Form directly on the website and make online payment.
Application Fee
- For B. Tech :- Rs. 700/- & (With Late Fee :- Rs. 1000/-)
- For B. Arch :- Rs. 800/- & With Late Fee :- Rs. 1100/-)
- For B.E. :- Rs. 500/-& With Late Fee :- Rs. 800/-)
Selection Process
- Selection will be done through the entrance test.
Exam Pattern
For B. Tech Course
- Type of Paper :- There shall be one objective type paper.
- Exam Duration :- 3 hours
- Type of Question :- The questions will be based on Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
- Total Marks :- 150 Marks
- Test Centers :- Aligarh (U.P.), Lucknow (U.P.), Srinagar (J. & K.), Kolkata (W.B.), Patna (Bihar) & Kozhikode (Kerala)
For B. Arch Course
- There shall be two papers of equal weightage.
- Paper-I :- Common with B.Tech. applicants (details are provided under B.Tech. programme)
- Paper-II (Architecture Aptitude Test) : – It shall contain some descriptive questions and Test of Drawing.
- Exam Duration :- 3 hours
- Test Centre :- Aligarh (U.P.) only
Note
- Candidates (including Rank holders of Diploma in Engineering of this University) should secure at least 40% marks in Paper-II (Architecture Aptitude Test) to become eligible for selection.
- Candidates are advised to bring their own drawing and sketching material like pencils, eraser, sharpener, pen, ink,Pencil Colours, Water Colours etc. Drawing Sheets and/or Answer Booklet shall be provided to the candidates.
For B.E Course
- Type of Paper :- There shall be one objective type paper.
- Exam Duration :- 2 Hours
- Type of Question :- The questions will be based on Physical Sciences & Engg. Sciences are relevant with some questions having emphasis on practical aspects.
- Physical Sciences :- 25 Question
- Engg. Sciences :- 75 Questions
- Total Marks :- 100 Marks
- Test Centers :- Aligarh (U.P.) only.

Paper Pattern

– Candidates should secure atleast 40% marks in Paper-II (Architecture Aptitude Test) to become eligible for selection
– Candidates are advised to bring their own drawing and sketching material like pencils, eraser, sharpener, pen, ink, Pencil Colours, Water Colours etc.Drawing Sheets and/or Answer Booklet shall be provided to the candidates
– Candidates including Rank Holders of Diploma in Engg of AMU/Foreign Nationals/NRIs seeking admission to B.Arch Course are compulsorily required to appear and secure 40% marks in the B.Tech/B.Arch. Test (Architectural Aptitude Test-Paper-II) conducted by the AMU as stipulated by the Council of Architecture for registration as an Architect.
