    Northwest College for Advanced Learning is an initiative by Graduates from Harvard Business School, Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, London Business School, INSEAD, and the IITs. NWC aims to fulfill the gap in quality education at both undergraduate and post graduate levels through its high quality, specialized programs. NWC has been established by Maitreyi Trust, a not for profit entity established as per the rules of Government of India. NWC teaches specialized programs in Finance, Banking and Economics from the University of London International Programmes (UoL) with academic direction from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The University of London awards the degrees and diplomas at undergraduate and post graduate levels respectively, which are the same as those awarded to students studying in UK. LSE sets the curriculum and conducts examinations through British council centers in India.

    Diploma in Management (DIM)

    This diploma offers you the opportunity to study the activity of management and the environment in which the manager operates. It has an emphasis on social science theory and practice which reflects different areas of expertise. Management at LSE is strongly based on economics and students require a strong mathematical base, though other areas such as industrial relations, strategy, and organisation theory also occupy a central position. This diploma reflects this approach and will suit you if you are interested in a career in management or management consultancy, and many other areas where the skills that you learn will be valued. We are delighted that we can offer a programme which allows International Programmes students to develop a breadth of knowledge in this intellectually rigorous degree.

    Eligibility
    To be eligible to register for a Diploma for Graduates, you must:

    * Hold a full first degree (at least a second class honours degree) completed in a minimum of three years duration on a full-time basis (or equivalent) from a university or other institution, acceptable to the University of London AND
    * Demonstrate that you have reached a level of competence in Mathematics at least equivalent to a pass at GCSE/GCE 'O' level in a Mathematical subject at Grade C or at least 70% marks in class XII (CBSE and other Indian Boards) AND
    * The applicant must have scored above 70% marks in English in Class XII (CBSE and other Indian Boards). If the applicant does not match this requirement then NWC and UOL require the applicant to pass International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall score of at least 6 with a minimum of 5.5 in each sub-test or Test in English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 580 (or 237 on the computerised test) plus the Test of Written English (TWE) with a score of 4.5 (or a Writing Rating of 4.5 in the computerised test)

    The diploma provides you with an understanding of the way in which financial intermediates and institutions operate, and the structure and functioning of financial markets. You will learn about the pricing of financial assests, and how and why corporations choose and issue various types of assests. The banking units provide information on precisely how financial intermediaries operate, both on a domestic and at the international level.

    Eligibility :
    To be eligible to register for a Diploma for Graduates, you must:
    * Hold a full first degree (at least a second class honours degree) completed in a minimum of three years duration on a full-time basis (or equivalent) from a university or other institution, acceptable to the University of London AND

    Developed in consultation with academics and professionals throughout Southeast Asia as well as the UK, this diploma gives you an understanding of accounting and finance that will be useful throughout your career. The programme does not simply teach accounting techniques and focus on computational skills with the aim of immediate application, but enables you to evaluate their usefulness in different contexts. You are encouraged to adopt a critical and flexible viewpoint and to look at the subject from a variety of perspectives, including the international dimension.

    Depending on your choice of units, the study of economics will give you greater understanding both of particular areas such as public economics, international trade or economic development, and of the broader behaviour of economies.One of the excitements of economics is that it remains a work in progress, as the current international economic crisis makes clear. Because of its combination of verbal reasoning, and mathematical and quantitative analysis, the degree is an excellent foundation for employment not only as an economist in industry, finance, goverment or international organisations, but also for a range of other careers where these skills are valued.
