The institution affiliated with Delhi University, nurtures budding aspirants in homoeopathic education, awards degree in Bachelor in Homoeopathic System of Medicine and Surgery after completion of 5 and 1/2 years of training, including compulsory internship. This institution is not only one of the reputed Homoeopathic Colleges of India, but is also acknowledged for its academic brilliance in far off areas of Europe, America and is widely known in the Indian subcontinent.

Students are introduced to the concepts and principles throug its structured syllabi of four and a half years in a phased manner so as to develop an understanding and practice of medicine. The traning is imparted on the approved course structure of Central Council of Homoeopathy, Minimum Standards Regulations. After passing the Final BHMS exams. and provisional registration with the Board of Homoeopathic Sysatems of Medicine a student has to join compulsory internship within one month passing BHMS. During his compulsory internship the student selects a topic and undertakes intense research.

The concept of education remains incomplete till it is translated into actual results for within the institution facilities with 100 bedded hospital for providing treatment to all kinds of patients free of cost. The college is well equipped to cope with the growing complexities of modern scientific procedures, which has X-Ray Department, Dental Department, Pathology department. Gynecological and obstetrical departments. The most appealing feature is that it admits patients who are suffering from terminal ailments and no one to look upon.

The institution also organizes Re-orientation Training Programmes to upgrade the conceptual knowledge, skills of homoeopathic practitioner in Dermatology, Organon of Medicine and Materia - Medica. Three months training capsule was designed to train the homoeopathic physicians under the financial assistance of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Three batches of physicians from Homoeopathic dispensaries of Govt. of Delhi, MCD, house physicians, registrar of Nehru Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital, homoeopathic physicians from the research body were trained on the concepts of Organon, Materia Medica and Dermatology. They were also acquainted with the user-friendly homoeopathic software such as Mac- Repertory, RADAR etc in medical prescription. Several visits were undertaken to Homoeopathic Institutions such as Central Council of Homoeopathy, Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, HPL etc.

The institute named after the late Pandit Motilal Nehru was started in 1967 by Late Padm Bhushan Awardee Dr. Yudhvir Singh a great freedom fighter, social worker and pioneer Homoeopath of India. The institution has been built on two and half acre of land . The foundation stone of the college was laid by Hon'ble Dr. Sushila Nayyar, Minister of Health and Family Welfare at that time, on August 22, 1963. The O.P.D. Wing was inaugurated by the then Hon"ble Prime Minister, Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri on May 6, 1964 " 100 beded IPD Services were started on 27th Feb. 1980 by the then Municipal Councillor, Sh.Kedarnath Sahani. The journey of the college started with the excellence of Dr.Jugal Kishore, Founder Director of the college. Dr.B.K.Bhatnagar (1st Sept. to 24th April 1975) took over as the first Pincipal of the college on 1st September 1967. The college has aspired, developed and was its best of its excellence during the regimes of Dr.B.K.Bhatnagar (1 September to 24 April 1975), Dr.D.P.Rastogi (25th April 1975 to 15th April 1984), Dr.V.K.Gupta (16th April 1984 to 31st March 1995) and Dr.V.K.Khanna(1st April 1995 to till date). Classes in the college were started from 1967 for diploma level (DHMS) Course in Homoeopathy. On September I, 1972; this institution was handed over by Dr. Yudhvir Singh Charitable Trust to Delhi Administration The institution was up graded Degree Level to BHMS course in 1986.
