Mahila Institute of Technology (MIT), the first affiliated college of this University has been established by theDepartment of Training & Technical Education, Government of Delhi, w.e.f. the academic session 1998-99 for imparting education exclusively to women in emerging areas of technology, keeping in view the global technological developments and to meet the requirements of the Indian industry in the 21st century.
The Institute has been established with the objective of :
(a) emerging as an educational centre of excellence for providing facilities of technical education to women and thus facilitating their prepration for a pivotal role in the nation s efforts for industrial development.;
(b) bridging the gap between the present technical education scnario as well as technological development and manpower needs of the 21st century;
(c) developing into an institute with a close social and industrial interface.
