Jagan Institute of Management Studies, set up in 1993 under the aegis ofJagan Nath Gupta Memorial Educational Society -a registered non-profit body, has been working for the attainment of a mission, i.e.,to develop skilled human resource for industry and business. From a very modest start, it has now acquired a very commendable position as a premier institute in the country. It is well known for its total commitment to excellence in management education. It imparts quality education, develops analytical ability, promotes leadership qualities, improves communication skills and infuses creativity in the participants of the programmes. the institute provides a unique blend of training and research. The training programmes of the Institute caters to the requirements of emerging managers and professionals. Research occupies a prominent position in JIMS spectrum of activities. The institute carries out various market surveys, commodity studies and policy research. To disseminate knowledge and information it publishes a quarterly journal entitled JIMS 8M, which has been well received by academicians, students and practicing managers.

Its Two Year full-time and Three Year part-time Post Graduate Diplomas in Business Management (curriculum equivalent to MBA) has been approved and recognised by the All India Council Of Technical Education, New Delhi, a statutory body of the Government of India. The real recognition is from the industry which has globally accepted its students in various challenging jobs and summer training assignements.

JIMS faculty comprises distinguished academics who strive to develop in students the right combination of attitude, skill and knowledge to enable them to play a meaningful role in the Management cadre. Besides imparting quality education, the institute has been conducting a series of Seminars covering the various contemporary issues in the field of Management. During the year 1996, the Institute organised two seminars on "Changing Business Scenario-Perspective 2001" on February 2, at IIC and "Managing Across National Boundaries" on October 19, at FICCI Auditorium, New Delhi. Both of them were well appreciated by management practiceners, academicians and students.
