International Polytechnic for Women is a premier institute exclusively for women. It is run by The Educational Society of Professionals & Vocational which was formed by likeminded educationists, philanthropists & public spirited persons, dedicated to bringing about socio-economic transformation. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. International Polytechnic for Women is one of the many educational institutes run by the Sri Sukhmani Group of Institutes(SSGI).

IPW was established in the year 1979 to encourage women to effectively contribute towards economic development. International Polytechnic for Women offers full-time diploma courses in design related courses under the engineering and technology department as per the Department of Training and Technical Education. The polytechnic is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) since 1984.
