Located in The Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR), originally established as Department of pharmacy at Kashmiri Gate Polytechnic in 1964 is one of the departments of Directorate of Training and Technical Education. In 1972, the department was later on shifted to Pusa Institute and then in 1979, to present lush green of 10.5 acres campus at Pushp Vihar, New Delhi. From College of Pharmacy it was upgraded and now emerged as Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR) vide gazette notification of July 2004, under Department of Training and Technical Education, GNCT of Delhi affiliated to University of Delhi. It is also trying to emerge as the first Pharmacy University of India, Delhi Pharmaceutical Science and Research University (DPSR-U) as per the Govt. Legislation enacted on 11th September 2008. DIPSAR has developed as State of Art. It is now a full-fledged Centre of Excellence which is constantly producing top class pharmaceutical scientists, pharmacists thereby significantly contributing towards the development and progress of World and India in particular., The DIPSAR is an Institute of Government of Delhi, affiliated to DPSR University, New Delhi and approved by AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi., DIPSAR has developed as State of Art Institute. It is now a full-fledged Centre of Excellence which is constantly producing top class pharmaceutical scientists, pharmacists there by significantly contributing towards the development and progress of World and India in particular., This premier Institute has completed yet another year preserving its heritage of high standards in teaching and research in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The primary endeavor of DIPSAR is to:, Mission, It is the right time to move to the next level in health education and I think it is important to note that DIPSAR’s successful 50 years history laid a strong foundation for this growth. For this I am thankful to the excellent staff and students to be an inevitable part of this institution. Research is our most potent tool in the quest to motivate our budding scientists to contribute to the pharmacy industry and we hope to continue the same in future., There has been a continuous increase in the number of activities of the students and the institute over the years and the last academic year brought many exciting changes and accomplishments. In future also, I have to look forward to continuing the advancement of our Pharmacy programme at DIPSAR., To develop the institution as the Centre of Excellence by equipping it with the latest infrastructure facilities and make it fit to achieve NBA accreditation., To provide need based quality education at affordable cost by establishing link with industries, Govt. Technical establishments, Non-Govt. Organizations, Alumni and Parent Teachers” Association., To develop holistic personality of the students by all possible ways so that they can contribute effectively and efficiently in the respective professional career, besides offering sound technical knowledge., To orient every activity towards infusing ethical values, team spirit, self-confidence good environmental awareness and women empowerment by all possible ways to make the student capable to become a good citizen and contribute to the socio-economic development of our motherland and the global society at large., Vision, Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR) is serving with a vision to prepare quality pharmacists at various levels for the country. Adequate guidance, extensive training with broad vision is provided to students through multi-dimensional programs by the experienced faculty and industry institute interaction coupled with latest tools and techniques in Pharmaceutical Sciences to make them potential leaders, research scientists and entrepreneurs with assured placement in the profession of pharmacy., In addition to the existing departments (Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Herbal Drug Technology, Pharmaceutical chemistry, Pharmaceutical Management, Hospital Pharmacy and Quality Assurance), it has been planned to expand and diversify the Institute further by opening additional centre to cater the needs of academia, industry & profession. The Lt. Governor, GNCT of Delhi has declared the first Pharmacy University of India, and perhaps Asia by the name of Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University, a state university, w.e.f 1st Feb 2010 was enacted by Govt. legislation on 11th September, 2008..
