Bioinformatics Center (BIC) at Sri Venkateswara College was established in the year 2006 with an objective to promote Biology teaching through Bioinformatics, from the initial funding from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under the Biotechnology Information System (BTISnet) program. It is the first Bioinformatics Center established in the University of Delhi and North India for the benefit of students at undergraduate level
The Center was inaugurated by Dr T. Madhan Mohan, Advisor, Bioinformatics Center, Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India and Shri K V Ramanachary, Executive Officer, TTD Trust Board & Treasurer, Sri Venkateswara College Governing Body in July 2007.
The BIC caters to the computational and bioinformatics needs of the undergraduate students, research scholars and teaching staff members from various departments in the college. Short-term training programs are offered to students from colleges and universities all over India.
Bioinformatics Center BIC offers various graduate courses as well as Post Graduate courses.
