Post Graduate Diploma in Social Media & Web Journalism - The Social Media & Web Journalism Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism provides graduates with the key competencies expected of them as new recruits in the journalism industry, including high quality news gathering and investigative abilities, the capacity to disseminate such investigations in the form of journalism, a critical understanding of media law and ethics, the taking of shorthand, conducting and writing up a major piece of investigative journalism, and creatively preparing news copy for non-print media platforms, such as radio, television and the internet, and critically reflecting on new media practices including the use of social media. Students will demonstrate an ability to take news photography and understand relevant economics and statistical concepts.
