Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management - Rural society in recent decades has seen numerous changes by way of increase in size, organisational complexity and functional differentiation. Developing and managing rural infrastructure and providing services to both farm and non farm sectors could well be the key to growth here. This is a task that is increasingly the responsibility of local self government bodies in the country. Therefore, it is the need of the hour to facilitate the process of the transition by training key stake-holders so as to put them higher on the learning curve, and to enable them to manage the process efficiently. Keeping in view the need for skill upgradation through a systematic course of learning, the Academy's State Institute of Rural Development has launched the Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management. This course is based on distance-learning mode. It is of one-year duration. The course is designed to impart a mix of practical managerial skills and personality development inputs along with a sound understanding of the economic, social and political environment predominant in the rural areas.
