Post Graduate Diploma in Management Energy Management - The discipline of Energy Management is founded on a number of environmental fundamentals namely urban planning, energy performance, energy efficiency, energy management and health and well-being. Urban planning is a mechanism of environmental control that influences health in systematic ways. In the EU policy entitled ‘Action Plan for Energy Efficiency: Realising the Potential’ they outline that the direct cost of our inability to use energy efficiently amounts to more than 100 billion euros, they conclude stating that realising this potential will require a significant shift in our approach to energy consumption. Therefore, reduction of energy consumption and the use of energy from renewable sources in the buildings sector constitute important measures needed; furthermore EU policy suggests that reducing energy efficiency in the building sector be identified as a top priority.
