M.Sc Food Chemistry- Food chemistry is a quality assurance, food legislation, sensory analysis and hazard control, including laboratory work to assess the chemical and microbiological quality of foods. These modules are followed by an extended practical project or dissertation. It will also cover the chemical, biological and physical principles that underlie food processing and storage, and which are essential for effective quality management.The growth is so rapid that there is an urgent requirement of a technology which makes the growth and development sustainable. It is only Food Technology which can reduce the gap between harvested food and available food by changing the mode of finished product, i.e., processing, packaging and storage conditions, etc. The focus is on healthy food, diets, calories, nutrition status, etc. Very recently the country has entered the era of Food safety and a food safety authority of India has also been created.
