Master in Teacher Education (MTE)

The Master in Teacher Education (MTE) is a two years Postgraduate professional Teacher Education degree course in India. The course is designed with the focused on the advancement of the teaching career, course work in a specific subject to hone candidates expertise. The study develops pedagogical theory knowledge with a stylistic approach.The programme is grounded on the premise that integration of theory, practice and research can make a significant impact on teacher education on school education.In order to build communities of professional practice, the programme partners with a range of organizations such as public and private schools, institutions of teacher education (governmental and others) and public service organizations that work in the areas of education, special needs, development and policy. The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects and Principles Techniques in an academic discipline such as Orientation to Teacher Education, Professional Communication, The Arts and Science of Teaching, Models Theories and Strategies for Teaching, Maintaining an Effective Learning Climate, Child and Adolescent Development, Critical Issues in Education, Assessment and Evaluation.

Eligibility

The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree like Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or any other Bachelor Degree with relevant subjects, or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s degree professional study program. * Master's Degree in any discipline (with minimum 55% marks, as per NCTE norms) * A professional teaching certification with minimum 55% marks, as per NCTE norms (B.Ed., D.Ed., B. EL. Ed or equivalent)

Course Duration / Learning Mode

This course requires study requires 2 years of the time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning study option to earn this degree.
