Master in Medicinal Plant Science (MMPS), is a two years postgraduate medicine degree course of study in India. The study emphasis on the development of medicinal plants functional food, from identifying the bioactive components in the laboratory, and new medicines are nutritional food.

The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects and principles techniques in an academic discipline such as The introduction of Medicinal Plant, Medicinal Plant Cultivation, Phyto - Pharmaceutical Studies, Conservation, Distribution of Medicinal Plant, Phytochemistry, Medicinal Plant Resource Management, quality Control of Medicinal Plant, Extraction and Marketing of Medicinal Plant.
The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree in Bachelor of science (B.Sc), or any other Bachelor Degree with relevant subjects like Botany & Zoology or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s degree study program.
This course requires study requires 2 years of the time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning, study option to earn this degree.
After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do M.Phil in Medicinal Plant Science, Ph.D. (Doctorate in Medicinal Plant Science), and specialization or research oriented work in their respective field.
