Master in Archaeology and Heritage Management (MAHM), is a two years postgraduate academic master degree course of study in India. The aim of the programme is to prepare candidates for satisfying career as heritage resource management leaders committed to the collaborative management of diverse heritage comprised of multiple values as a diverse and dynamic international field that demand critical and tactical thinking to achieve objects in research compliance, commerce and community engagement and development.

The study increases the number diversity expertise and integration of heritage resource management practitioners who hold or fulfil the need of professional qualification standards for multiple jurisdictions and share a commitment to professional, conservation-oriented management of diverse heritage from treasured parts.

The master's course of study is suitable for those candidates wants to increase their knowledge for accelerating their career by exploring and acquire a critical understanding of Archaeology and Heritage Management.

The course of study is designed to provide in-depth knowledge, information, techniques and about the activities associated with Heritage Management in a comprehensive manner. The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects and principles techniques in an academic discipline such as Ancient People and Place, Human Origins, Special Topics in World Prehistory, Principles of Archaeology, Archaeology of the Old World, Archaeology of the New World, Archaeological Science, Ancient Visual Art, Archaeological Conservation, Landscape Archaeology, Archaeological Perspectives on Human Ecology, Material Culture Analysis, Human Osteology.

Eligibility

The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree like Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), or any other Bachelor Degree with relevant subjects or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s degree study programme.

Course Duration / Learning Mode

This course requires study requires 2 years of time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning, study option to earn this degree.

The Master degree holder have excellent career opportunities in Colleges & Universities also in both National and International Archaeological Conservation sites.

After the successful completion of the course, one can be recognized as Archaeologist and able to work as Assistant Research Fellow, Museum Curator, Senior Researcher (Heritage Sites), laboratory Instructor, Professor, Lecturer, Senior Research Fellow, etc.
