Diploma in Cardio Thoracic Nursing - The diploma course in cardiac Nursing has been planned in order to prepare registered nurse to function effectively in various intensive and coronary care units. The need for a special course was felt as cardiac medicine and surgery have advanced rapidly along with the new invasive and non –invasive therapeutic and diagnostic equipment. The use of these specialized equipment is possible only if the nurses in these units have the skill to handle these equipments and in depth knowledge to interpret the data given by the continuous invasive monitors and improving the professional standards by providing quality care to patients.
