This jewelry course offers the practical knowledge of researching, sketching and making by hand decorative costume jewelry, using a wide variety of materials like brass, copper, nickel silver, mother-of-pearl, tortoise shell (or imitations), horn, plexiglas, glass, man-made precious or semi-precious stones, pearls and their combination. Students have the choice of designing and making a piece or pieces of jewelry using their own ideas, or reproducing historical or ethnic-types of jewelry.
