Certificate course in Computer Aided Design - Computer-aided design (CAD) is the use of computer systems to assist in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimization of a design. Schoolcraft College offers both a CAD drafting-technical certificate and a CAD mechanical associate degree.Computer-aided design is a process of using a computer with a drafting software to produce drawings according to specific industry and company standards. We currently offer AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Drafters and designers use CAD to create 2-dimensional drawings and 3-dimensional models. AutoCAD tools are used for drawing objects (any size or shape), patterns, textures, and a variety of dimensioning techniques.
