Basic Life Support Course (BLS) - The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers classroom course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and clear a blocked airway in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The initial course requires approximately 4.5 hours to complete, including practice and assessment of learned skills. The renewal course requires approximately 4 hours, including practice and assessment of learned skills. The aforementioned course times are based on a single instructor with 6 students using 2 manikins.
