B.A Honours Interior Architecture and Design - The practice of Interior Architecture and design deals with the conception and creation of functional, aesthetic and inspiring built environments. It provides for the cultural needs and aspirations of human living activities spanning a range of spaces such as residential interiors, business and commercial establishments, places for recreation and hospitality (hotels, restaurants and resorts); health, social and cultural institutions (hospitals, schools, theatres, museums and places of worship) and so on. The canvas of interior design is multidisciplinary and multi dimensional. It covers art, architecture (construction, structures, services) technology, furniture, lighting, materials, products, cultural anthropology, social sciences etc. An interior designer is expected to tackle a range of issues arising in the creation of designed interior spaces as harmonious environments of human habitation. This course in interior Architecture & Design program prepares graduates for a critical engagement with practice of interior design through an academic and professional grounding in problem-solving, formal design skills and pertinent historical and technical knowledge.
