Bachelors of fine art, a four years full time degree course is divided into two parts.

Foundation course:
This course is of one-year duration and is common to all the students. This course provides basic instructions to lay the foundation for the specialization courses.

Specialization courses:
The college provides Specialization Courses in Painting, Sculpture, Graphics, (print making) and Applied arts. These courses are of 3 years duration and give intensive and advance training to students in practical and theory.

The objective of teaching theory subject i.e. Aesthetics and history is to acquaint the students with the visual cultures from the earliest time to present. They are designed of the conviction that the students can understand his relation to his own time and the technology of his command through awareness of the relationship to his artistic predecessors. They form an important part of the overall teaching programme, and the instructions are appropriately supported by visuals, lecturers, discussions, seminars, written exercises and tests. The History of Art course is divided into two parts, First introduction to different civilization of the world for foundation level students and second, chronological study of the development of world arts for specialisation classes. At the specialisation level the students study Indian Aesthetics and Western Aesthetics accordingly. Fine matiere, a sort secondary beauty common to every well-done job, is discernable in the aesthetic quality of artwork of all ages and lands. The separate theory courses of methods and materials for Painting, Graphics and Sculpture specializations offer the students an insight into the behaviour pattern, scopes and limitations of various traditional and contemporary materials. Such knowledge helps the students to avoid the common pitfall of indifference.
