Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration from a recognized university in any discipline with minimum 50% marks. (Mathematics at 10 + 2 School level or Graduation level is compulsory) or UPSEE 2010 qualified.

The MCA course is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge of computer science with emphasis on applications together with a judicious blend of technical skills. The duration of the MCA course extends over six semesters, spreading up equally over three academic years. The students have to take 25 courses along with the lab and industry training during the sixth semester. The courses are imparted in the duration of five semesters and sixth semester is dedicated to an Industrial Training. Evaluation of each course is done out of 150 marks, with 50 marks on internal evaluation and 100 marks on the examination conducted by University.

The syllabus of the first two semesters firmly implants the fundamentals of computer science and applications. It helps the students in understanding how computers work and how different types of problems can be solved using computers. It gives the students a kaleidoscopic view of Information and Communications Technology. It lays a solid foundation on which the students can build their further studies. It teaches the students the problem solving approach and the systems approach that are fundamental to information technology.

In the second year the students delve deeper into computer science and also start learning the tools of the trade. They learn Operating systems, Object Oriented Technology, Analysis and Design of Algorithms, Internet and Java Programming, Computer Networks etc. The students also get to learn the best practices in the field and acquire some essential domain knowledge about the functioning of businesses. During the fourth semester they also begin to apply their knowledge with the start of the mini project. This mini project serves as a test bed to test their skills and as a platform to consolidate their knowledge and develop a skill set essential to any computer professional. It enables the students to develop, assess and improve their analysis and design skills, programming skills as well as their documentation and presentation skills.

The fifth semester is the culmination of the students' march towards becoming a complete computer professional. By this time the students have already acquired fundamental skills. The fifth semester takes them deeper into computer science with advanced topics and provides them a diverse field to explore. Students also get a chance to study what they want according to their personal abilities and inclination through two electives. Latest trends in the field of information technology, the emerging field of neural networks, the highly promising field of Mobile Computing and the enterprise world of Information Security and Cyber Laws are included in the syllabus apart from classic subjects like Web Technology, Dot Net Frame work and C# etc. The course ends with the sixth semester industrial project that initiates the student into professional practice under the guidance of a seasoned industry expert.
