Full time 3- year postgraduate degree program approved by the AICTE, Ministry of HRD Govt. Of India and affiliated to Uttrakhand Technical University Dehradun.

The Master’s degree course in Computer Applications (MCA) is one course, which Incorporates in its syllabus the computer applications study with on essence of business. This is a prestigious 3 years / 6 semester’s courses for the graduates who want to establish their credentials in the field of Information Technology.

The MCA graduates find employment in organizations engaged in medium to large- scale software development. Initially MCA graduates are employed in Technical areas such as programming, systems analysis and design, Internet system development .They are well prepared for progression into project leadership and management positions as their experience develops.

It is estimated that out of 600,000 knowledge workers , almost 170,000 are working In the 17 software and service export Industry , nearly 107,000 are working in the 17 enabled service and over 220,000 in user organizations.

The job opportunities for MCA over the past few years have multiplied greatly and all across the world Indian computer professionals are required. This boom is here to stay for the next 8 to 10 years.

Society in the 21st Century is crucially dependant on computers. An MCA from DBIT equips you to play a key role in the advancement of this technology, as a software engineer, system manager or information technology applications specialist and offers the opportunity of attaining a high level of knowledge and practical skills in computing.

The state of the art air – conditioned central computer center of DBIT, is equipped and network with over 200 HCL Ezee Bee Pentium IV computers each with 128 MB RAM and 40 GB hard disk to cater to the academic needs of the students.

The department has all the required software to run practical as per University curriculum. The computer lab has network IBM machines connected with the MCA server, which in turn is connected to the 24X7 Internet through V- Sat. The library block houses not pertaining to general computing interests.

intake:
Out of total 60 seats, 50% are for Uttaranchal domiciles and 35% for all India students. The remaining 15% are management seats.

Eligibility:
Graduation in any stream with Maths as one of the Rank obtained in UEE-2011, Uttarakhand MCA Common Entrance Test organized by Uttrakhand Technical University.

Fee Structure: Tentative Fee Structure for the students that will take admission in MCA in the Year 2012 will be as follows:

Above Fee includes Registration, Tuition Fee, One Time Uniform Charges (i.e. uniform will be provided only once in four year at the time of the admission), Library Membership Fee, Alumni, Internet, smart card, Insurance charges. (No hidden cost is to be added at later stage).

All Other facilities viz. Transport, Hostels, Value Added Modules, Book Bank Charges etc will be additional and optional to the students, that means if student according to his/her own choice opt for these facilities will require to pay additional as per Institute rules for these facilities.

Fee is to be paid semester wise on well announced dates, failing which student will be liable for late fee etc automatically.

Students having 80% or above in Graduation will be entitled for 10% Scholarship in First Semester Fee.
