M.A.English Classics in Translation English for Careers,Literature Analysis, Approaches & Applications,Copy Editing Film Studies Eligibility - Undergraduates from any discipline The Department of English in one of the oldest departments in the college. Established in 1985, it was upgraded to a postgraduate department in the year 2005. The OBJECTIVE of the department is to contribute to the growth of individuals who combine self-confidence with a firm sense of personal and social responsibility. The Department reaches out to all the students of the college through the Foundation Course in English and aims at enabling its students to become strong bilinguals, lifelong learners, and efficient communicators, who have developed skills, accountability and attitudes for leading a fulfilling life. The facilities at ADEPT – the Language lab help the department to engage in improving teaching methods and approaches in consonance with the requirements of the fast-changing scenario of English Studies with a strong emphasis on training in Spoken English. The learner-centered approach has been consistently producing good results. The PG students, apart from gainig specialized competence in the subject are also trained to hone their skills in research. Our students have been securing the University 1st Rank for the past two years.
