Eligibility Criteria for Admission :
10+2 (Non-Medical) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects alongwith any one of the following as optional subjects:
Chemistry or Computer Science
Open Seats (2/3rd seats) :
The Admission for 2011 session shall be made by Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala (PTU) on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE -2011) .
Management Seats : (1/3rd seats)
Direct admissions shall be made as per PTU/State Government norms
NRI Seats :(Within Management quota seats)
As per PTU/State Government norms
Fee Waiver Scheme Seats :(5% of the AICTE sanctioned seats, over and above the normal intake)
As per PTU/State Government norms
Admissions of Diploma holders in 2nd year B.Tech. through Lateral Entry scheme (10% of the seats in each Branch)

Important Rules for the Students
- Rules regarding Attendance:
- A student is expected to arrive in class in time and must attend all scheduled classes.
- The students shall be required to attend the lectures as prescribed by the PTU, Kapurthala.
- The name of a student who remains absent for more than seven working days without permission, shall be struck off the College Rolls. However, he/she can be readmitted with the approval of the Director, but only after paying the Re-registration fee of Rs.1000/-
- All scheduled lectures are to be counted upto the last academic day before the commencement of the preparatory holidays.
- A scheduled lecture is considered as delivered, even if the whole class were absent.
- A student is required to attend a minimum of 75% of the scheduled lectures in each theory/lab. subject and he/she will be admitted to the University Examination only when he/she fulfills the above mentioned attendance requirements.
- The student falling short of above stated minimum attendance requirement shall be ineligible to appear in the final university examination.
- The University examination fee would be charged as per actual.
