Department of Physics
The Department of Physics offers both Pass and honours courses up to Graduate degree level. It has well equipped laboratories and a dark room. Recently a Computational Physics Laboratory-cum-Internet hub has been developed with the assistance from the UGC.It has six Computers with inter net facility.
The Department has a seminar comprising of all the members of the staff and Honours students as members. The seminar meets every Saturday for presentation of papers and discussion among the students and faculty members. It maintains a seminar library to provide access to the students for reading the best books in the fields of Physics and Electronics. Very often it arranges Extra Mural Lectures by eminent Physicists. Students are encouraged to get themselves involved in research activities. Presently Dr.R.N.Patnaik, HOD of the Department is engaged in research in further study of the terrestrial effects of Solar Flares.
