    B.Sc Biochemistry ( Eligibility: A candidate who has passed in Higher Secondary Examination with Biology and chemistry) as one of the subject under HSC board of examination, TamilNadu as per norms set by the Goverment of TamilNadu or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the syndicate shell be permitted to appear and qualify for the Bachelor of Biochemistry Degree

    The department established it’s under graduation in 1988 and Post graduation in 1995. Our department has upgraded its status by offering M.Phil in Biochemistry since 2008 and various research activities are on its progress. Along with academic activities the students are allowed to engage themselves in myriad extracurricular activities. Faculties of our department guide the students to participate and win in various inter college competitions.

    To enhance the wisdom of the students, Lectures on current happenings are made available regularly through the department’s association- “LIFE”
    To explore the world of science the association is conducting many workshops, conferences and seminars frequently.
    Each and every year our student’s names are hitting the rank list of Periyar university
    Our students have bagged many Gold medals in the past years
    Frequent visit to the near by pharma industries are made by the students to give tem practical and analytical skills
    Our students are eagerly presenting papers and posters in various National level seminars and have won many prizes.
    Constant guidance from the faculties to get hands on training to the students in the near by laboratories before they finish the course
    Our department supports the students to carry out leading M.Sc., projects in our lab
    Many of our students are representing periyar university in many events of sports.
    Most of our students are placed in familiar pharmaceuticals nation wide
    Our faculties are a part to conduct TNSCST, govt of tamilnadu sponsored programmes , young students scientist program, creation of scientific awareness program for school students ,SHG members and farmers.
    Our department has received Funds for students project from TNSCST,govt of India .
