The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering started with an intake of 60 students. Considering the infrastructure facilities and academic excellence of the Department, the AICTE enhanced the intake of the Department from 60 to 120 from the academic year 2003-04. The Department has qualified, experienced and dedicated faculties. The present strength of the faculty is 18 and among them 9 are Post-Graduates and 2 Doctorates.
Departmental Activities
The Department conducts Seminars, National Conferences and Workshops and arranges Technical talks by renowned Technologists and Academicians from Industry and from other Institutions. There is a Departmental Library for reference by students and faculty. It has an Association, “ELECTRA” which aims to bring out the latent talents of the students.
Eligibility :
For admission, a minimum of 50 % marks in the aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the P.U.C. examination of Karnataka or its equivalent examination is a must. In case of SC/ST/CATEGORY candidates, this percentage is fixed at 45 %. Foreign/NRI students are also admitted to he B.E. courses.
