Computer science or computing science is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation and of practical techniques for their implementation and application in computer systems. Software engineers can be involved in the design and development of many types of software, including computer games, word processing and business applications, operating systems and network distribution, and compilers, which convert programs to machine language for execution on a computer. Computer software engineers begin by analyzing users' needs, and then design, test, and develop software to meet those needs. The department at KC Tech, assisted by a dedicated faculty, constantly strives to improve academic standards. The syllabus keeps in view the requirements of the software industry and the response of the students has been overwhelming. The Department was accredited by NBA for a Period of 3 Years and permanent affiliation has been granted to the department of CSE by Anna University, Chennai from the academic year 2009-10. The department laboratories are interconnected through a well-designed seamless network with Internet facility with the speed of 4 Mbps to facilitate the student’s access to websites. This helps the students in meeting the demands of the curriculum. The department also provides personality development programs for students , facilitates Industry -Institution interaction and offers placement assistance. The department has a student association called "Campus Technical club" whose primary purpose is to arrange seminars, workshops and technical interactions with industry. The association also conducts programming skill tests, quiz competitions, technical paper and poster presentations and several other activities designed to help the students improve their technical knowledge. The department has campus agreement with Microsoft, IBM and Oracle Corporation for obtaining licensed software as per the demand of Anna University syllabus. The department offers value added courses like Certificate course on Oracle 11g through the Oracle Work Force Development program by Oracle Trained faculty.
