    The mission of the Computer Science Department is the creation and transmission of knowledge about the computer science discipline and profession. The mission has three components: teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and service. Foremost in the department mission is the commitment to excellence in all of three areas.

    The department strives to prepare students well for either graduate school or a professional career. Our graduates are expected to be able to make the connection between theory and application. We support our faculty efforts to expand the body of knowledge, disseminate their findings through publication and consulting, and engage in intellectual inquiry. Our faculty are involved in curriculum development, textbook writing, and pedagogical innovations. Faculty members are encouraged to play a service role on the campus and in the local community.

    HISTORY

    The department was established in the year 1998 with an initial intake of 60 and with minimum infrastructure of two laboratories: Programming and Hardware labs. The department has grown in strength over the years in terms of Infrastructure facilities, Technical expertise, Faculty Strength, Modern Teaching Aids, Browsing facilities etc. The department has currently an intake of 120 students. The department has qualified and experienced faculty and technically competent supporting staff on its rolls. The department is accredited by the National Board of accreditation, New Delhi. Apart from regular academic work, the department is actively involved in industrial training, consultancy, research and other professional activities. The department has close interaction with software development firms and R&D establishments.

    VISION

    The Department will expand its crucial role within the academic and intellectual development strategy of the College. It is important that we contribute to computer science in a way that our faculty and students can devote themselves to take the maximal advantage of modern computer science to solve a wide range of complex scientific, technological and social problems. The department continues promoting innovative research and education programs in the core computer science as well as multidisciplinary application areas. Preparing innovators who can communicate their ideas and who understand their responsibilities as computer science professionals in a global society.

Foster personal and professional growth for all students, faculty and staff .Our mission is to achieve excellence through outstanding teaching, cutting edge research and active service to the community.
