Bachelor of Arts in English (B.A English) The undergraduate course in English Literature was introduced in 1969; and in 1976 the department was upgraded to a post graduate department with the introduction of the M.A degree course. The Department has organized State level, National Level and International level seminars and conferences. The Department of English in collaboration with ELTAI conducted the 4th International and 40th Annual Conference on ‘Managing Mixed Ability Classes’ from 7th to 9th August 2009. Dr. Mrs. Nafeesa Fathima moinuddin and Dr. Mrs. Fathima Banu were awarded the prestigious Fulbright Junior research fellowship in the year 2005. There are faculty members who have got opportunities to go to foreign universities on academic purposes-Mrs.Fathima Begum and Mrs.Mehar Taj. The staff members Dr.(Mrs.) Khader Almas, Mrs.Mehar Taj and Mrs.Alliya Parveen under the able guidance of Mrs.Razia Nazeer Ali (Former,HOD) did a Minor Research Project approved by the UGC.The department also compiled a textbook for the Foundation English.
