DudhaDhari Bajrang Girls' Post-Graduate (Autonomous) College is a premier institution of higher education in Chhattisgarh.The college has been accredited B++ grade by NAAC, Bangalore. Established in 1958, the college has a brilliant record of more than 40 years of academic and co-curricular achievements.The 4.47 acres land of the college campus and 300 acress of land was donated by a Trust headed by Mahant Dudh-Ahari Bajrang Das . The college was set up with the aim to bring the women of this under-developed region to the main stream of the nation. Started with mere 16 girls, today, the college has about 2100 students striving ahead for academic excellence., This Govt. college is affiliated to Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur and ranks among the best colleges of State. It is widely known for its multi-disciplinary areas of study viz. Arts, Commerce, Science and Home-Science subjects., The college got an autonomous status in the year 1988. Since then, it has followed its own academic calendar. It is running its own examination cell with full efficiency. There is a “Jan Bhagidari Samiti” which looks after the planning, recruitment and financial management of the institution., The college is a recognized research centre for Home-Science, Zoology, Hindi and Psychology. The college excels in the field of research activities, a number of research projects have been completed. National Seminars and work-shops are the regular features of the activities of college academicians. Extension activities are carried out by the members of teaching staff. One NCC and two NSS units are at work and have earned laurels for the institution. A career guidance cell and a counselling cell have also been set up. Guest lectures by experts of various subjects and practicing professionals are organized throughour the year. An alumni association is formed to inspire, support and encourage the students., The huge campus of the college has a building with 25 rooms and 15 laboratories. The college has a rich library with 54,298 books & 60 research journals. The college has extensive play grounds outdoor games and multipurpose hall for indoor games. The college has a hostel accommodating about 300 students. Looking to the present demand of the students basically hailing from remote areas of the State, the Department of Higher Education Govt. of Chhattisgarh has sanctioned Rs. 81 Lacs for the construction of a new hostel building.In tune with its quest for excellence and growth about 27 short-term courses under the theme of ATPP (Affordable Training for Professional Proficiency) have been started. Latest teaching methods have also been adopted.Study Centre of IGNOU for M. Sc.( DFSM) - Dietatics & food service management has been introduced the insititution from October 2005., The faculty of Home Science has been declared by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Chhattisgarh as "Centre for Excellence in Home Science Studies".Vocational Course - "Fashion Designing" has been introduced in the faculty of Home Science and Arts at first degree level., Keeping pace with the changing trends in higher education and educational technology, computer education has been started at first degree level and PG level (PGDCA). The institution has a UGC network resource centre offering internet facility.The institution is sensitive towards students academic and other requirements.
