Chanakya Academy, set up in 1992, started one year Diploma Program in Fashion Design and Interior Design for the first time in Raipur. These courses were well received. At that time there was no English Medium College in Arts, and Commerce streams in Raipur. The Academy proposed in 1993 to then MP State UGC to commence Graduate level Course in Business Management. The proposal was accepted by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Chanakya Academy was given permission to start B.Com, BBA from July 1994. Information Technology was considered as the other field whee Indian students have excelled themselves and the growing use of Information Technology in arious spheres of life offers exciting opportunities to Indian studens. Acdemy therefore propoed to create facilities in IT field.

Government is unlikely to make more investments in Higher Education and the society will have to make contribution to bring relevant and useful courses on self sustaining basis. Chanakya Academy, a NGO, proposes to work in this rea and offer quaalified experienced Professionals will stay ahead to fill up the educational aspirations and needs of the students. Promoters of Academy realize education as the most potent tool of change and development, Chanakya College is therefore an expression of their desire to contribute to social development and help youth of this region to development as responsible, economically strong citizens of India. The effort is being made to make the education and training relevant so that it mets the needs of students of this region and imparts them the skills that they need.

Chanakya College apart from recognition from Govt of Madhya Pradesh and affiliation with pt Ravishanker Shukla University, Raipur, is accredited by DOEACC, Govt of India and is an authorized nodal center of All India Management Association, New Delhi.College is governed by a governing body formed as per the College Code of the University and the College functions on self financing basis without any aid from the Government.

Campus Infrastructure

College has it's own campus, library, computer center and has separate hostel for girl and boys. The present building of College is under further expansion. Video / Audio based training equipment, Internet connection are available.

College has competent and dedicated full time faculty; number of professionals and consultants are drawn from outside to assist the full time faculty to deliver the programs effectively. College offers an open door policy and invites well known professionals to remain on it's visiting faculty.
