Gemology is a significant branch of mineralogy, and is exclusively concerned with identification, testing, manufacturing, grading, cutting and policing, and final appraisal of precious and semi-precious gemstones which are used in the jewelry and astrology industries. This bachelor’s degree course offers comprehensive information about these activities of gemology, starting from extraction of gemstones to final grading and evaluation. After completing this three-year course, students will be talented enough to make bright and booming careers in the fields of assessment and grading of gemstones; jewelry designing; gem manufacturing and exporting industries; jewelry distribution companies; gem certifying bodies; gemology research.
