Also known as the plant science or plant biology, Botany is the scientific study of various plants (including the familiar seed plants, bryophytes, ferns, mosses, lichens, conifers, algae, fungi, and flowering plants), and also of how plants survive and interact with other living and non-living things in the environment. This three-year bachelor’s degree course in botany prepares botanists or plant scientists for working in the sectors of agriculture-based professions, environmental consulting, teaching, botanical research, landscape designing, management of nursery or greenhouse, and many others.
