Lakshmi Narayan College was established in 1975 and since then it has been playing an important role in imparting quality education in this locality. It is in this connection that Department of Education was established in 2012. L. N. College, Bhagwanpur is the first constituent college where the course has stated first. Being situated in rural area, this college is playing an important role in imparting professional education to the students of the rural area. It is recognised by NCTE, Bhubaneswar and is affiliated by B.R.A Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. There are hundred seats in this course. Admission is done through a written examination.

The college is a constituent unit of B. R. A. Bihar University, Muzaffarpur and is recognized under section 2f and 12(B) of the UGC Act. The college has a well furnished building and a big hostel for girls already exists within the campus. The college boasts of its rich laboratories of various departments including a computer lab and the library treasures books and journals of international repute. All the departments have computer with internet facilities. Two high capacity generators have been installed for an uninterrupted power supply to the departments. and labs. The sprawling campus of the college is situated on the N.H. 77 and it is just approx 21 Km away from Hajipur and approx 31 Km from Muzaffarpur.
