The solemn foundation stone of BRM College, Munger was laid by Honorable Sri Krishna Singh, the first chief minister of Bihar, on the 15th of july 1958.

It was a stepping stone indeed for the upliftment of women in the Munger district region. Thanks to the august will of the pious, noble souls-the donors-honourable Sri Devniti Singh and Sree Premniti Singh. We Salute their chaste inclination to initiate prosperous future for the welfare of women, which blossomed with a blissful benediction and slowly but steadily emerged into a women’s college, called “ Balmiki Rajniti Mahila College” Munger. It began from a dilapidated courtyard of Madhopur Girls High School with a meagre strength of just 08 eight Students. Let us pay homage to the”iron will” of the founders and the first secretary Honourable Sri Pratap Narayan Singh and a devoted founder principal Mrs Krishna Kumari Sinha along with other social activtists who played yoeman’s role in developing this college in the early fifties. They moved from door to door, beging alms to add brick by brick to its healthy existence.

BRM College Munger emerged as a nascent institution from the misty clouds of uncertain financial stringency and multitudes of problems. It crossed through several corridors of transition,

BR Mahila College, Munger is one of the premier institution of women’s education of Munger division in Bihar. BR Mahila College has been assiduously shaping the socio-academic needs of women of this area rural as well as urban right from its day of foundation in 1958.

This region is situated on the southern bank of “Holi river Ganga”. 3.69 KM long Munger Ganga Bridge links Munger with Northern part of Bihar and North-East states with vast scope of trade & communication. During the freedom struggle, Munger had its own share of sacrifice both in walter of wealth as precious as life established since the days of the British rule, Munger has industries like ITC, Jamalpur Railway Workshop, Gun Factory, etc of high standard.
