India is going global and the world is coming to India. In this scenario, World languages will act as the means to go global. The Department of Foreign Languages offers the students the power of expression so that they are prepared to face the ever-expanding world when they move beyond the University. Presently four foreign languages are offered by the Department: French German, Russian and Spanish. Soon languages like Japanese and Chinese shall also be incorporated

The language learning at the Department has been designed in a way to complement the various courses the students are pursuing so as to offer an integrated learning experience. Also the course promotes direct applicability of the language in real life situations. The pedagogical techniques followed make free use of technology. Film songs and film sessions, theatre and native speaker interaction are compulsory elements of the courses. Language acquisition is prompted in all three areas of speech, writing and listening with equal emphasis. Presently part time courses in these languages are offered. They are in 3 levels of proficiency: Certificate, Diploma and Advance Diploma.

=> Certificate of Proficiency in German, French, Russian (part time)
