About B Borooah College, Guwahati
B. Borooah College is a premier institution of Higher Education in the entire North-east India which has been imparting quality education to young minds. In these years, the institution has produced thousands of educated and qualified people to serve the nation, the cause of education and the interests of mankind. It has witnessed, over the years, the changing socio-economic scenario and it feels that the contemporary times are characterized by fast and sweeping changes in almost every field.
The College offers Undergraduate (UG) programmes in Arts and Science streams, one Postgraduate (PG) programme in Chemistry, one certificate course in Computer science, and two vocational courses. The genesis of the College is linked with freedom struggle of India against the foreign rule. The UGC recognised this college under 2f in February 1968.
In UG Arts major courses are available in all subjects except in Bengali and Hindi. For Science students major courses are available in all subjects except Statistics. PG in Chemistry is run on self-financing basis.
