About Gogamukh College, Gogamukh

The main objective of the college is generally to impart higher education in the rural areas inhabited by backward classes belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward classes.

It is through spreading of higher education that social evil, superstition can be eradicated prevailing in the society. Motto is to bring out a new order in place of old as education is for social reformation.

To create business feasibilities, establishment of small and medium scale industries through the learned youth will greatly enhance rapid socio-economic progress of the rural areas.

The College is going to celebrate its Silver Jubilee in 2006 and is looking for establishing new courses equipped with the students in changing scenario of the modern education technology. Introduction of vocational courses like computer, weaving etc. are some of its’ extended courses. The college is affiliated to the University of Dibrugarh. It is now under the deficit system of grant-in-aid under Assam Government. Beside the College receives nonrecurring grant from U.G.C. for development of its stature.
