Government College Doimukh was established vide Notification No. ED/HE/PLG-327/2012 dated Itanagar, the 4th May 2012. The college shall cater to the growing needs of higher learning for the people of state especially those who are the domicile of Papum Pare District, Arunachal Pradesh. The college was initially started at Arunachal Law Academy building, Lekhi near Nirjuli in 2012. It was shifted to a new campus near Government Higher Secondary School, Doimukh in 2013. However, the college shifted to its permanent site at Midpu, Doimukh in July 2017. The present location of the College is just 23 Kms away from the state capital – Itanagar. It is well connected with roads via Naharlagun and Yupia. The nearest railway station is 09 nine kilometres away from the college campus and there is a helicopter service at Naharlagun just 8 kms from Doimukh.
