Sri AddepalliSatyanarayanaMurty, the founder of the college was a freedom fighter of high repute. He took part in the Salt Satyagraha and the Quit India Movement and accepted imprisonment with a smile as a gift from the Mother India. He was also a great humanist and social worker who fed thousands of motherless and destitute children with milk every morning and provided food to the victims of famine and floods. As a great visionary and a noble soul, Sri AddepalliSatyanarayanaMurty donated huge amounts to the educational institutions in and around Palakol even by selling away his property. Palakollu (originally ‘Pala kolanu’ which means ‘milk pond’) is one of the fastgrowing secondary towns in West Godavari District. It is also known as ‘Ksheerapuri’ both the names denoting a place where milk is available in abundance. Palakollu has a great religious and mythological significance due to which it has been popularly called ‘Ksheeraramam’.While making great strides in the physical sphere, the town had a humble beginning in the field of education.
