Andhra Loyola College (ALC) is managed and administered by the members of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). The College was founded in December 1953 at the request of the Catholic Bishops of Andhra Pradesh and opened in July 1954. It was affiliated to Andhra University till December 1976 and to Acharya Nagarjuna University thereafter. It was granted the autonomous status in July 1988 in recognition of its excellent contribution to the cause of education. The college owes a great debt of gratitude to its many friends, benefactors, well wishers and staff who have spared no pains to further its cause., A Christian Minority institution, managed and administered by the members of the, Society of Jesus, called Jesuits.
