      AG and SG Siddhartha Degree College of Arts and Science, Krishna, Our College resides in Vuyyuru, which is situated 30 Km away from Vijayawada on N.H 9 that ends 45 Km after at Machilipatnam, once a famous port town, nowthe administrative Head Quarters of Krishna District. Lacking in easily accessible educational institutions near by and deprived ofopportunities for their children for higher education, the farmers of Vuyyuru area approached the K.C.P. Sugar and IndustrialCorporation Ltd. Management requesting for the establishment of a college. Already there was the “Adusumilli GopalakrishnaiahTechnological Institution” managing an Industrial training centre and a polytechnic college from 1947 to 1958. The society wasrevived by the K.C.P Ltd., with the help of local philanthropists and sugarcane growers and a college was born with the name ofAdusumilli Gopalakrishnaiah and Sugarcane Growers College on 12th August 1975 and was inaugurated by the Hon’ble ChiefMinister Sri. J. Vengala Rao.

      The Department was established in the year 1998 with an initial intake of 18 students and 12 computer systems in the department laboratory. Sri R. Baktha, Secretary & Correspondent of the College in that period inaugurated the Department. Miss T. Madhuri M.Sc., was the first Lecturer in charge of the Department. Later on Mr. P. Siva Rama Krishna M.Sc., acted as the Head of the Department until Jul, 2003.
