About VSR and NVR College, Tenali

VSR and NVR College with its wonderful infrastructure, and imposing buildings located in 21 acres of land is unique. It was the brain child of late Sri Nannapaneni Venkata Rao, well known as Nannapaneni, an impeccable politician, who strove hard to establish this college in 1951 to cater the educational needs of the poor, especially of the weaker sections, who were unable to go for higher education, due to lack of an educational institution in Tenali and Repalle taluqs.After crossing the infantile hurdles, it began to grow by leaps and bounds and witnessed many fast phases of progress and it became a prestigious institution.The V. S. R. & N. V. R.College owes its genesis to Late Nanannapaneni Venkata Rao, the then Chairman of Tenali Municipality for establishing Tenali College. Subsequently, on receipt of a substantial donation from Sri Velgapudi Venkata Subbaiha Rama Krishna, the college was renamed as VVSRK college. After the demise of Nanannapaneni Venkata Rao in 1980, it was given its present name.
