Located in Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Chittoor is located at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh.The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Andhra Pradesh is an Autonomous Institute setup by Government of India (MHRD), Government of Andhra Pradesh and Industry Partners (represented by Sricity Foundation) as a not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) Society. The IIIT is funded by Government of India (50%), Government of AP (35%) and Industry Partners (15%). The IIIT is expected to meet operating expenses from tuition fees, grants, sponsorships and donations. Additionally, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has lent support to the institute by granting 70 acres of land for setting up the Campus., The institute is run by the Board of Governors of The IIIT Society. The Board of Governors include representatives of MHRD, GoAP and Industry Partners; eminent people from academia, industry and civil society., MHRD (GoI) has taken up the initiative to setup 20 new IIITs to develop New Knowledge in Information Technology and to provide manpower of Global Standards for the Information Technology and Allied Fields. While The IIIT has just started from the Academic Year (2013), it endeavors to be among the top 10 Technology Institutions of India within 5-10 years., Course Offered, B.Tech Courses & Seats, B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering 130 Seats, B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering 70 Seats, Fee Structure, Fee Structure for the Academic Year 2016-17, Tuition Fee Rs.85,000/- per semester, Admission Fee Rs.10,000 (One-time payment), Caution Deposit Rs.10,000 (One-time payment. Refundable at the end of the programme), Hostel Fee, Water & Electric Charges Rs.12,000 for semester I (on twin sharing basis) (Water & Electric Charges to be adjusted against actual), Mess Charges Rs.17,000 for semester I (to be adjusted against actual ), Text Books Institute will help arrange the text books for the semester. Students have to pay the cost and collect the textbooks at the time of registrations, at the beginning of semester. In addition to the above, students will be required to pay for Medical insurance., Facilities, The Campus: A state-of-the-art campus is being built on 77 acres of beautiful terrain which is situated along a scenic perennial creek. The campus is being designed and built according to international standards. While the new campus is being built, the institute is functioning from the campus of Institute for Financial Management and Research at Sri City. IIIT is a residential institute with separate hostels for boys and girls with all necessary facilities, and it is mandatory for all students to stay on campus. Students can access Campus-Network and computing facilities from their hostel rooms. Till the hostels on campus are ready, the students and faculty are put up in rented apartments. One hostel with 140 rooms is functional and the second hostel with 120 rooms is under construction., Green Campus: Sri City where the IIIT is located is planned on Sustainability Principles. All off energy consumed by municipal services comes from Sricity Solar Farm. Sri City encourages its tenants to use a minimum of 40% of energy from renewable sources (Solar). Sri City also encourages electric vehicles for movement within Sri City. The IIIT will endeavor to function on 100% Solar Energy from neighboring Solar Farms. It will also encourage all IIITians to use electrical vehicles for movement within the Campus. Most of the water requirement will be met through rainwater-harvesting and re-use of treated waste-water., Labs: The Institute has air-conditioned, specialized, high-end equipment in each laboratory, as needed in research and development projects., Computer Lab: The Institute has air-conditioned computer labs and work stations. Every student from 2nd year onwards is required to have his/her own laptop computer to complete their assigned study and work. The institute provides loans to students who cannot afford to buy their own laptops. Loans have to be repaid once the students get employed., Networking: The institute is Wi-Fi enabled. All buildings including the classrooms, hostels and the campus will be connected through a high-speed fibre-optic network. Students can access Campus-Network and computing facilities from their laptops and computers anywhere in the campus. Campus-Network will be connected to the Internet through a dedicated leased line., Library: The Library has a good collection of reference books, technical reports, journals, and general books. The institute subscribes to all leading journals/magazines. The library is open upto midnight on all working days., Digital Library: The institute's digital library will be ready soon, which will be an online archive of useful software, books and tutorials. Students can download any permitted software from this resource. There will be many textbooks and reference books available in the digital format. Many recorded lectures will be available online for students' use as well., Hostel Facilities: IIIT is a residential Institute and it is compulsory for all students to stay on-campus. Separate hostels for boys and girls are available with necessary facilities. Students can access Campus-Network and computing facilities from their hostel rooms., Dining Facilities: Once the institute is fully ready, it will have multiple messes serving a choice of healthy and nutritious food. Importance will be given to maintain a hygienic environment in the messes. The students will be free to choose any mess of their choice. There will also be a canteen which serves snacks, non-veg food, general fast foods, juices, milk products. At present, the institute has one mess serving a mix of South and North Indian food with capacity of 500. The mess is managed by a committee comprising of students, staff and faculty., Sports: The institute encourages students to actively participate in at least one sporting activity based on his/her individual aptitude. The institute provides sports facilities and equipment for a variety of sports such as cricket, football, basket-ball, badminton, volleyball etc. There are tournaments held on a regular basis that ensure a healthy, active atmosphere among students., Gym: Gym facilities for men & women with modern equipment are available in hostels., Bus Facility: This is provided for students from the hostel to the classes and back., Financial Assistance, Education Loans, The Institute will ensure that the deserving students get education-loan from scheduled banks at attractive terms. The student will start repaying this loan after he/she starts earning. PAN card is essential for getting any loan., Assistantships, The IIIT will provide research and teaching assistantships to qualified and deserving students., Part-Time Jobs, There are many businesses in the vicinity of Institute. The IIIT will try to get part-time jobs for students wishing to work., Fee Reimbursement Schemes, Many state governments have fee reimbursement schemes for SC/ST/OBC and EBC students.
