The ACP Educational Trust, a Charitable Trust, with the basic objective of providing education in Engineering, Information Technology, and Management to the downtrodden in the educationally, economically, and socially backward area, started a Polytechnic College in the name and style of “Sun Institute of Technology”, in the year 1997-1998 at Erachakulam, a small hamlet, 8 kms away from the Holy Town, Nagercoil in Kanyakumari District.Sun College of Engineering and Technology was established by the ACP Educational Trust in the year 1999 after getting proper approvals from the Government of Tamil Nadu and All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The College is affiliated to Anna Technical University, Tirunelveli for all its academic programmes and is located in an area of 60+ acres.
