P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Polytechnic College, Rajapalayam established in the year 1963 is one of the best polytechnic colleges in India. Created as a Centre of Excellence for higher training and skill development in Engineering and Technology at Technical level, this institution is functioning under autonomous status.
The Institute is located at P.S.K. Nagar, Rajapalayam, 85 km south of Madurai, Tamilnadu. Extending into area of 55 acres, the campus is imaginatively laid out with a beautiful landscape in serene atmosphere. It is laid with clean and wide roads. It presents a spectacle of harmony in architecture and natural beauty. Well-equipped labs and workshops and spacious classrooms ensure effective Teaching-Learning Process.
The campus houses a Nationalized Bank, Co-operative Stores, Book depot, Canteen, Xerox Centre, Medical Facility, Public Telephone booth and Sports Centre to fulfill the needs of various stakeholders.
The Polytechnic College owes its inception to the munificence and foresight of late visionary of Rajapalayam Shri P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja, one of the foremost industrialists and philanthropists of this part of the country. He founded P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Education Charity Trust in 1950 with the avowed object of establishing Educational Institutions. Established in 1963-64, as one of the Plan Schemes under the 3rd Five Year Plan, this Polytechnic College has grown phenomenally in the past 45 years. The Institution is affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamilnadu, Chennai and the overall management of the Institution is vested with the Governing Council under the able leadership of Shri P.R. Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha, Chairman, RAMCO Group of Industries.
P.A.C. Ramasamy Raja Polytechnic College aided by Government of Tamilnadu, recognized by the AICTE and managed by the Governing Council is to provide full time Diploma and Post Diploma in professional disciplines to eligible students selected as per the norms of Government of Tamilnadu. The Polytechnic is permitted to frame autonomously developed curriculum and evaluations system that suits the needs of Industry, Business and Community. Need-based Continuing and Non-formal education programmes are offered to the society to make them employable utilizing various national and international assistance and guidance.
The Polytechnic is empowered to develop Human Resources, Transfer of Technologies, provide technical and support services and disseminate information to rural and economically weaker sections around the locality through Central and State Government sponsored schemes.

CIICP Project a Brief History
